I find it very interesting that the whole country is talking of recession. It sure gets depressing. The recession has a big effect on our daily lives, yet it seems to boost some careers. Like, I don’t know, maybe voice over. Many big businesses, and small too, find it necessary to increase advertising, even in bad times. As voice talent, we too should increase our advertising. As the businees of voice over picks up for most, some are left in the dust because they aren’t increasing their advertising of themselves. It makes sense to say that if succesful businesses realize that it pays to increase advertising during tough times, we should do the same in order to be successful. It is a big circle. They increase advertising, which means more opportunity for talent. If you aren’t increasing yours as a talent, how do you expect them to find you. Follow the example of any successful business, be it large or small, and spend your money wisely. Advertising yourself. If you don’t sell yourself, you sell yourself short.
