Keep your voice sounding good means your jobs will be well done. When you work with your voice all day long, it’s important to take care of it so that it’s full of energy. Thinking of your vocal health, we collected a few valuable tips that are easy to follow and will surely make a difference!

  • Sleep well! Taking a good 8 hour rest per day will be a powerful friend to your voice. And, if it’s possible, after you’re awake wait 2 to 3 hours to start doing your voice over jobs.
  • If you live in a place where the heater is dry, you should think about buying a humidifier or having a pot full of water in your studio. Working in dry places can hurt your throat a lot more and will easily tire your voice.
  • In the few hours before you start a voiceover job, try to talk in a moderate tone. Shouting and whispering are not healthy for your voice, even if your basketball team is winning the game.
  • Water and water! You must drink at least 7 glasses of it. When you’re thirsty drink water instead of coffee, pops and alcohol. Those will only dry your throat instead of hydrating it.
  • Now this is a special note for the women: being in your menopause or on your period may change your voice, the hormones will affect your voice quality.
